IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Russell Wade
Crenshaw
June 9, 1949 – September 8, 2025
Russell Wade Crenshaw, 76, passed away on September 8, 2025, in Louisville, KY.
Born on June 9, 1947, Russell graduated from DuPont Manual High School and the University of Louisville. His professional journey began in engineering. For the last thirty years he was the sole employee of his own computer service company, Crenshaw Services. He valued the lasting relationships he built with clients, especially through his work with the Center for Accessible Living.
Russell approached life with an ongoing spirit of exploration. He built his first computer from scratch and brought that same ingenuity to every pursuit. He enjoyed cooking and he approached cuisine from both nutritional and gastronomic perspectives. He had a deep love of science fiction and fantasy, which fueled his imagination.
He cherished his friendships, formed over decades of Friday volleyball games—followed by pizza, beer, and spirited conversation. Deep connection and a lifelong community emerged from this weekly ritual.
His commitment to wellness led him to become a teacher of Zhineng Qigong, eventually taking the reins of the ZQ Educational Corporation, a conduit for friends and colleagues worldwide.
In recent years Russell became a member of Psanctuary church, developing close-knit friendships that broadened his deep connection with an even wider community. At Psanctuary he gained profound support on his spiritual journey and exploration of consciousness.
Russell is lovingly held in memory by his wife, Lenore; sons Andrew (Lindsey), Alan, and son at heart Jeremy Clark (Dara); brothers Edsel, Lewis (Kathy), and David (Elizabeth); and grandson Elias.
Russell was buried at a friend's farm in Marion Co. on September 11. A memorial to share remembrances and celebrate Russell's life will be held Saturday October 4, 11:30 AM at
All Peoples UUC, 4936 Brownsboro Rd, Louisville, KY 40222
Donations to honor Russell may be directed to the production of Cardinal Valley, a habitat restoration documentary, Vidwest Studios, 1600 Business Loop 70 E, Columbia, MO 65201.
