Russell Dean Mattingly, age 52 of Loretto, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 at VA medical center in Louisville.  He was born August 1, 1970 in Marion County.  He served his country in the U.S. Army and fought in Iraq.  He was formerly employed with Hendrickson in Lebanon.  He enjoyed woodworking, shooting guns, playing cards and video games and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Teresa Salazar Mattingly; four children, Joshua Salazar of Loretto, Joseph Alshemmari of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Jackie Lee Mattingly and Jacob Mattingly, both of Loretto; four grandchildren, Isaac, Jasmine, Carmen and Lenny; his parents, Carl Dean and Jeanie Pyse Mattingly of Loretto; three siblings, Phyllis Nally (Eric), Diane Medley (the late Tim Medley) and Randy Mattingly (Laura) all of Loretto; two sisters-in-law, Laura Salazar of Clarksville, Tennessee and Alicia Salazar of Lebanon.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.  Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery with full military honors.

Visitation is 3-8 pm Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
