Ruth Ellen Hardin McIntyre, age 95 of Louisville, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Baptist Health Louisville.  She was born January 5, 1927 in Loretto.  She was a retired housekeeper for Saint's Mary and Elizabeth Hospital.

She was a devoted, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She loved spending time with her family, loved playing her guitar and dancing.  She was always the life of the party.  She will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George William and Mary Ellen Miller Hardin; six sisters, Gladys Osborne, Mary Frances Pearson, Thelma Mae Hardin, Emily Mattingly, Florene Stinnett and infant Dorothy Hardin; two brothers, James Everette Hardin and John Wesley Hardin; one half-brother, Morgan Hardin.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Laferty (Buddy) and Debbie Sheffield all of Louisville; one son, David McIntyre (Joyce) of Louisville; four granddaughters, Brandi, Kelly, Kimberly, and Tracy; five great grandchildren, Gabriel, Kaylee, Chase, Miles and Cade.

Funeral Services will be held at 4 pm Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.  Burial will follow in Smock's Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation is 11 am – 4 pm Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
