Obituary
Ruth Caroline Miles, age 77 of Loretto, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at Baptist Health in Lexington.
She was born May 28, 1937 in Loretto. She was a former Clerk at the Loretto Post Office and was a lifelong member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Leonard and Edith Mary Raley Hayden, two sisters, Mary Edith Yates and Betty Sue Hicks, two brothers, Leslie Hayden and John L. Hayden and one son-in-law, Eddie Harris.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Robert G. "Bobby" Miles, four daughters, Sally M. Peterson (Charlie) of Bartlett, TN, Susie Klim (Paul) and Amelia Allen, all of Lexington, Ellen Harris of Versailles, one son, Jerry Miles (Elaine) of Shepherdsville, 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, four sisters, Dorothy Medley and Joann Hamilton, both of Loretto, Fanny Nally of Fredericktown and Peggy Browning (Jim) of Saint Mary's, two brothers, Fred Hayden (Linda) of Louisville and Bobby Hayden (Joyce) of Loretto.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6475 Highway 52, Saint Francis, with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Her nephew, The Most Rev. Bill Medley and The Rev. Bill Bowling will concelebrate.
Visitation will be 3-8 PM Wednesday, June 25. 2014 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM by Rev. Deacon Dennis May.
Pallbearers are grandsons, Matthew Miles, Nathan Miles, Nicholas Miles, Kevin Peterson, Stephen Klim, Jonathan Allen, Jeffrey Allen, Thomas Harris and Jodie Harris.
