Shirley Ann Downs

Shirley Ann Downs, 79, of Bardstown KY passed away peacefully at her residence on 5/2/26 with her family surrounding her with love. Shirley was born on August 8th, 1946 and was a resident of Bardstown, KY.

Shirley was the embodiment of love and warmth, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose smile could light up any room. Her gentle spirit and caring nature touched the lives of everyone she met. She dedicated her life to her family, creating a home filled with laughter, support and unwavering love. Her legacy will live on through the countless memories she created with those who she cherished most.

She is proceeded in death by her father; Harold Hutchins, mother; Martha Hutchins and brother Eddie Hutchins of New Hope, KY.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Joseph Lawrence “Larry” Downs, III, Daughter; Laura Downs of Bardstown KY, Son; Thomas Craig Downs of Bardstown KY; 4 brothers; Tommy Hutchins, Donnie Hutchins, Pat Hutchins, Carl (Pam) Hutchins; 2 sisters; Janie Tinnell and Teri (Gary) Johnson; 3 grandchildren; Danny Beavers, Kaylin (Derrick) Morris, Jacob Moore; and 5 great grandchildren; Easton, Rylan, Layla, Lorelai and Lainey.

In accordance with Shirley’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be private memorial service at a later date. The family appreciates your understanding and asks that you remember Shirley in your own way, cherishing the moments and memories you shared.
