Shirley Marie Miles, age 79 of Saint Francis, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Springfield Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born March 16, 1936 in New Hope, KY. She was a retired Dairy Farmer and member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Miles; her parents; William Rodman and Mary Bertha Donahue Clayton; one son, Michael G. Miles.
Survivors include her daughter, Jane Higdon (Jimmy) of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Jim Higdon of Louisville, Brittany Nagle (David) of Prospect, Deanna Cotton (Dee) of Lancaster, Eva Miles of Loretto and Katie Miles of Lebanon; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Anne Ball (Jimmy) of Culvertown and Libby Sims Jr. (Nick) of Bardstown; three brothers, Kenneth Clayton (Rita) of Holy Cross, Bummie Clayton (Bobbi) of Bardstown and Raymond Clayton of Shepherdsville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis, with burial to follow in Saint Charles Cemetery. The Rev. Emil Kandor will officiate.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM by The Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
