Sister Barbara Anderson, SL, age 87 of Nerinx, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary.

She was born January 23, 1930 in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late Karl Erie (K.E.) Walter Anderson and Edna Victoria Clow Anderson Munsell. She entered religious life in 1968 and received her final vows in 1977. She earned master's degrees in Religious Education from Hartford Seminary Foundation in Connecticut and University of California. She earned a Master's degree in Education from University of Arizona and a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Graduate Theological Union in California. Her assignments were located in California, Missouri and Arizona.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Loretto Motherhouse Church, 515 Nerinx Road, Nerinx. Burial will follow in the Motherhouse Cemetery.

A wake will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday at the Motherhouse. Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
