Sister Susan Howard, S.L., age 89 of Nerinx, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary.

She was born August 28, 1928 to John W. and Mary Annette Madden Howard of Springfield and was raised in Lebanon. She entered religious life in 1947 and received her final vows in 1953. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Loretto Heights College in Denver. Her assignments were located in Illinois, California, Colorado, Texas, Missouri, Alabama and Louisville, KY. She retired to the Loretto Motherhouse in 1995.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Loretto Motherhouse Church, Nerinx. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A wake will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday at the motherhouse.
