Obituary
Sister Marie Joann Rekart S.L., age 78 of Nerinx, died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary.
She was born March 19, 1937 in Brentwood, Missouri to the late John Edward and Annabelle Catherine Rickard. She entered religious life in 1955 and received her final vows August 15, 1963. She earned her master's degree in Special Education in 1972 from Northern Illinois University. Her assignments and ministries were located in Missouri and Colorado. She moved to the Loretto Motherhouse last year.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Loretto Motherhouse Church, 515 Nerinx Road, Nerinx.
Her wake will be held at 6:30 PM Friday at the Motherhouse.
