Obituary
Sister Charlotte Marie Schwartz, age 103 of Nerinx, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2014 at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary.
She was born April 26, 1911 in Saint Louis, Missouri to the late Edward H. and Charlotte L. McDonough Schwartz. She entered religious life in 1934 and received her final vows in 1940. She attended A. B. Webster College in Missouri and earned degrees in English, History and Philosophy. She attended Indiana University where earned a Master's degree in Library Science. Her assignments were located in Colorado, Alabama, New Mexico, Illinois, Missouri, Texas and Alabama. In Kentucky, she taught at Loretto Public School in 1936 and Loretto High School in Louisville in 1938. She was Librarian at Parkland Junior High School in Louisville in 1971 and Central High School in Louisville in 1974. She retired to the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary in 2009.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Loretto Motherhouse Church, Nerinx, with burial to follow in the Loretto Motherhouse Cemetery. A wake service will be held at 6:30 PM Sunday at the Motherhouse. Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
