Sister M. Lois Zeis, SL, age 91 of Nerinx, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary in Nerinx.

She was born December 30, 1924 in Saint Louis, Missouri to the late Frank Xavier and Mary Brune Zeis. She entered religious life in 1947 and received her final vows August 15, 1953. He earned Master's Degrees in Education and Social Work from St. Louis University and a Master's degree in Biology from St. Mary's College in Minnesota. Her assignments and ministries were located in New Mexico, Texas, Alabama and Missouri. She retired to the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary in 2012.

She bequeathed her body to the U of L Medical School. A Memorial Mass was celebrated at 10 am Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Loretto Motherhouse Church.
