Stephen Tyrone Leake, 70, of Lebanon, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2025, surrounded by his family. Known for his kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for others, Stephen touched countless lives and will be deeply missed.

Born on October 28, 1954, in Lebanon, Kentucky, Stephen was the second son of James Louis "Skeeter" Leake and Martha "Lois" Thompson Leake. He is survived by his beloved siblings: James Louis "Jimmy" Leake Jr., Sidney Bryan Leake (Valerie), Laura Michelle Jones (Steve), Martha Lynne Dunn (David), and Mark Thompson Leake. He also leaves behind a large extended family, including numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

A 1972 graduate of Marion County High School, Stephen excelled academically and was honored as class Salutatorian. He pursued higher education at the University of Kentucky, completing graduate studies in Business Administration at Campbellsville College in 1983.  Stephen dedicated over 25 years to public service, at the Department of Revenue in Frankfort and later at the Department of Social Services in Lebanon, retiring in 2008.  Stephen was an active member of St. Augustine Church. His dedication to his faith extended to teaching CCD at St. Charles Catholic Church.

Stephen's life will be celebrated on Saturday, February 1st, 2025.  Visitation will be held at Saint Augustine Church, 235 S. Spalding Avenue, Lebanon, from 10 am until time of the funeral mass at 11 am.  A luncheon and burial service will follow.  Mattingly Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
