Michael Stephen "Steve" Masterson, age 68 of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at his home.  He was born April 11, 1954 in Marion County.  He was a farmer and an employee of Makers Mark Distillery.  He was elected as a Marion County Magistrate and served from 2002-2018.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, George Edward and Theresa Emaline "Tar" Riggs Masterson; one brother, Joseph Kenneth Masterson; one nephew, Landon James Gootee.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Lila Masterson; two sons, Michael Masterson (Carrie) of Lebanon and Brent Masterson (Lisa) of Saint Mary's; three stepchildren, Kelly Hall of Dayton, OH, Sonya Hall (Ron) of Phoenix, Arizona and Todd Hall (Alisha) of Champaign, Ohio; five grandchildren, Michael Ryan Masterson, Mary Beth Masterson, Michael Masterson, Jr., Brittany Masterson and Lance Masterson; two great grandchildren, Peyton Peterson and Michael Brent Masterson, III; ten siblings, Eddie Masterson (Mary) of Loretto, Johnny Masterson of Lebanon, Shay Blough (Larry) of Saint Petersburg, Florida, Elaine Mattingly of Loretto, Alma Belt (Johnny) of Berea, Kathy Dow (Mike) of Loretto, Nell Kelly (Donald) of Georgetown, Mary Gootee (Terry) of Lebanon, Julie Clements (Jimmy) of St. Joe, and Laura Edelen (Terry) of Cox's Creek.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm Friday, September 30, 2022 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto.  Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate.  Cremation will follow.  A bereavement meal will follow at Loretto City Hall.

Visitation is 4-8 pm Thursday and 9:30 am until 1 pm Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home.
