James Steven "Steve" Miles, Sr., age 61 of Loretto, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born February 28, 1957 in Marion County. He was a loving father and husband, a caring son, an avid farmer, a dedicated employee of General Electric, an active member of the Loretto Sportsman's club, and a morning fixture of the "Bucket Club".

He was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Miles.

Survivors include his wife of 34 years to Susan Higdon Miles; two sons,  Thomas "Ted" (Patricia Ortigoza) of Baltimore, Maryland and James Steven Miles, Jr. of Loretto; his parents,  R. V. and Betty Spalding Miles of Loretto; six sisters, Diane Hagan (Larry) and Gail Medley (Doug) all of Loretto, Kathy Greenwell of Bardstown, Linda Smith (Leo) of Raywick, Sandy Sharp (Todd) of Fort Myers, Florida and Mary Kay Anderson (Troy) of Louisville; one brother, Keith Miles (Karen) of Lone Grove, Oklahoma.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Friday, October 19, 2018 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto.  Deacon Donnie Coulter will preside.  Cremation will follow.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM.
