Obituary
Cecilia Sue Thompson, age 87 of Louisville, formerly of Holy Cross, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at Audubon Hospital.
She was born May 16, 1930 in Marion County. She formerly worked as a Bank Teller at the Bank of Loretto and as a Bookkeeper for the Loretto Hardware. She was a member of Saint Athanasius Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Howard "Buster" Thompson (1971); her parents, John Augustine and Mary Gertrude Spalding Mattingly; three sisters, Mayola Thomas, Mildred McCauley and Geraldine Cecil; two brothers, Spalding Mattingly and infant Louis Gerald Mattingly.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Annette Thompson of Louisville; two brothers, Bernie Mattingly and John Mattingly, Jr. both of Louisville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday, May 22, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The Rev. Bryan Lamberson will preside.
Visitation is 3-8 PM Sunday and 8:30 AM until 9 AM Monday at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, Louisville, with a prayer service at 7 PM by Deacon Jim McCarty.
