Francis Terry Ballard, age 64 of Loretto, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at his residence.

He was born August 7, 1952 in Holy Cross where he was raised. He was a retired employee of American Fuji Seal in Bardstown and a 1970 graduate of Nelson County High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcie and Beatrice Cissell Ballard; one infant sister, Lonna Ballard; one brother, Bruce Ballard.

Survivors include his fiancé, Margaret Thompson; one daughter, Stephanie Ballard (Keith Shain) of Bardstown; one son, Scott Ballard (Alex) of Louisville; six grandchildren, Savanna Ballard, Chasity Carr (Aaron), Kelsey Ballard, Shelby Hatfield, Emily Hatfield and Joshua Cissell; two great-grandchildren, Jonah and Ruby Carr; two step-children, Billy Thompson (Susan) of Saint Francis and Amy Edelen of Bardstown; three step-grandchildren, Landon Edelen, Lauren Thompson and Emma Thompson; four sisters, Joette Mattingly (Estil), Judy Wimpsett (Larry), Lynn Ballard and Sandy Ballard all of Bardstown; Tommy Ballard (Risé ) of Bardstown and Roger Ballard (Virginia) of Versailles; one sister-in-law, Judy Ballard of Bowling Green; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday, February 13, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto. The Rev. Bryan Lamberson will preside. Cremation will follow.

Visitation is 3-8 PM Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM by The Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

Memorials donations may be made to the family for funeral expenses.
