Wayne Mattingly, age 88 of New Hope, died Monday, January 14, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side.

He was born December 1, 1930 in Marion County to the late George and Eliza Mattingly.  He was a farmer and member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Betty Jean Cecil Mattingly; three sons, George "Tiny" Mattingly (Catsy) and Ronnie Mattingly (Tammy) all of New Hope and Mark Mattingly (Shelia) of Bardstown; six daughters, Debra Newton (Ernie) and Marilyn Newton (Johnny) all of Loretto, Donna Stevens (David) of Bardstown, Jane Lyvers of Holy Cross, Anita Hagan (Hank) of Springfield and Pam Mattingly of New Hope; 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 59 New Haven Road, Loretto.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will preside.

Visitation is 4-8 PM Wednesday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.

Pallbearers are Austin Mattingly, Jacob Taylor, R. J. Mattingly, Robert Newton, Chad Hagan, Wade Newton and Stuart Mattingly.
