William Lee Cheshire, Jr., age 88 of Jeffersontown, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2021, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born April 7, 1933, in New Hope.  He was a retired employee of General Electric Appliance Park with 43 years of service.  He was a member of Saint Bartholomew Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Lee Cheshire, Sr. and Mary Effie Hall Cheshire and several siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Patsy Riggs Cheshire; two children, William "Greg" Cheshire (Teresa) of Taylorsville and Melissa "Missy" Grant (Stacy) of Austin, TX; seven grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer), Gregory, Bobby, Mason, Dario, Tessa and Nick; three great-granddaughters, Abi, Sadie and Kaylee; one sister, Rita Lucas of Mount Washington.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Monday, October 3, 2021, at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 104 Church Street, New Hope.  Rev. Matt Hardesty will officiate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 pm Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm by Deacon Dean R. Giulitto.
