William “Paul” Gardner, III, age 55, of Lebanon, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, at UK Medical Center. He was born February 16, 1971 in Marion County to the late William Paul “Billy” Gardner Jr. and Mary Ann Hutchins Gardner. He formerly worked as a mechanic with 68 Auto Parts. He enjoyed riding his Harley Motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends
Survivors include his daughter, Samantha Thompson (Ryan) and two grandchildren, Briar and Rielyn, all of Loretto; four sisters, Lou Ann Gootee (Johnny) of Lebanon, Fran Hamilton (Chuck) of Lebanon, Jan Gootee (Tony) of Loretto and Joan Mattingly (Eddie) of Loretto. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral Services for William Paul Gardner, III will be held at 11 am Monday, March 23, 2026, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate. Interment will follow in Saint Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
The visitation is 4-8 pm Sunday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 pm.
Pallbearers are Todd Gardner, Eddie Mattingly, Johnny Gootee, Chuck Hamilton, Tony Gootee, and Kyle Gootee.
